The park encompasses the 932-acre island – in the St. Marys River about two miles from the eastern tip of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula – plus just about six and one-half acres on the mainland in the community of Raber. Visitors to the island must charter or navigate a boat more than 2 miles across the St. Marys River.

The park is located in the eastern tip of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and encompasses the 932-acre island and 6.5 acres in the community of Raber on the mainland. It is home to a boat dock, cabins and tent camping on wooden platforms. Visitors enjoy hiking, fishing, wildlife watching, hunting, watching the freighters and more.

Cabins
The two- and three-bedroom cottages can accommodate up to eight individuals. There are water and portable restrooms conveniently located nearby. Guests should provide all basic necessities, including a light source, first-aid kit, cooking equipment, warm clothing and sleeping bags. There is limited electrical capabilities; some lighting produced by rooftop solar panels.

Camping
Tent camping is available on wooden platforms located 400 feet from the docks. Additional platforms are located on the southeast side of the island and are accessible by water or a 2.25-mile hike from the harbor. Non-platform camping is available in designated sites.

Getting to the Island
Visitors to the island must charter or navigate a boat more than 2 miles across the St. Marys River. Vehicle parking is available inland at Raber. Use of a non-motorized boat to reach the island is NOT recommended.

Lime Island Season
Cottages and campsites are available Memorial Day weekend through mid-September. A weekend cottage reservation requires a minimum stay of two nights. Check availability or make a reservation online or call 800-447-2757.
