Yachats State Recreation Area Description

This small-town park with a big view is just a short stroll from central Yachats down Ocean View Road. Watch for whales and storming waves from the easily-accessible viewing platform. On calmer days, take the steep path down to the rocky intertidal area, where low tide exposes craggy crevices and pools full of sea life. Pick up a Tide Table in town to track the best time of day for exploring. The park was acquired by purchase from private owners and gifts from Lincoln County and L. P. Gill, between 1928-1986.
