Located 8 miles south and 5 miles west of the city of Meade on K-23 Meade State Park was originally carved out of the Turkey Track Ranch in 1927. The park rests in the high plains of southwest Kansas, just west of the Red Hills. Meade Lake has 80 acres of water and 440 surrounding acres of campsites and wildlife area. Fishing is allowed in the lake year-round with motorized boating restricted to fishing only and no wake speed.
