Machimoodus State Park Description

Machimoodus State Park is noteworthy for its 300 acres of uplands, woodlands, meadows, river and cove waterfronts, hiking trails, bird watching and scenic vistas. Machimoodus’s 300 acres are testament to the commitment of the DEP to acquire and preserve important landscapes for both active and passive recreation as well as to protect sensitive landscapes in perpetuity. The park overlooks the Salmon River and Salmon River Cove in East Haddam, Connecticut. It takes its name, Machimoodus, from the earliest visitors to the area.
