Bowman Lake State Park is a 966.94 acre remote sylvan retreat known as "a camper's paradise." Scenic park roads wind through evergreen and hardwood forests to shady campsites. There is a sandy lakefront for swimmers and sunbathers with several picnic areas nearby. The lake is regularly stocked with trout, and birdwatchers can spot as many as 103 species of birds. The park also has a nature center.

In winter, snowmobilers and cross-country skiers enjoy outstanding scenery on 13 miles of designated trails.

Bowman Lake now offers new "rustic" cabins. These cabins are the perfect in-between for campers who like tents and cabins. Offering protection from the elements, they offer 4 and 6 person cabins, but have no electricity or water. Two (2) night minimum stay required for reservations. Reservations and out-of-state resident fees also apply.

Seasonal Camping Now Available:  Choose one of a limited number of campsites and leave your camper from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  You may contact the park office directly at 607-334-2718 to make a reservation any time after Labor Day. Seasonal sites DO NOT have electric, water or sewer services.  No additional discounts, including the Access Pass, will be accepted for seasonal camping.

Bowman Lake State Park

Chenango Valley State Park is an ice age wonder. Its two kettle lakes, Lily and Chenango, were created when the last glacier retreated and left behind huge chunks of buried ice which melted to form the lakes and bog. Birdwatchers may glimpse woodpeckers, nut hatches, warblers and thrushes along woodland trails and herons, ducks and kingfishers lakeside. Fishermen will find trout, bass, perch and bullhead in Chenango Lake. Campers can choose from among 184 campsites and 24 cabins and golfers will appreciate the 18-hole Chenango Valley State Park Golf Course (pro shop can be reached by calling: 607-648-9700). Sledding and cross-country ski trails attract visitors in winter.

Chenango Valley State Park

Unplug and unwind!  Oquaga creek has no cell or WIFI service...Take advantage and enjoy the peace...slow down, read a book, take a walk, go fishing...Get back to basics!

Oquaga Creek State Park is just three hours from New York City and New Jersey, which makes its forested campsites the perfect summer escape. The park offers a 55-acre Arctic Lake where anglers can fish for black bass, bullheads and rainbow trout. The rolling, wooded hills are ideal for winter sledding. Winter visitors can also ice fish on the frozen lake and snowshoers and cross-country skiers can explore ten miles of trails. If you like to camp, 90 non-electric sites are available. If you don't want to bother to pack a tent and equipment, you may be interested in the Full Service Accommodation. This cottage provides 2 bedrooms, a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, cooking utensils dishes and silverware and more.

The newly redecorated two story cottage offers a kitchen, living room with fire wood stove, one and a half baths, master bedroom with a Queen bed, second upstairs bedroom with three double beds, gas and electric heat, stove with oven, refrigerator, furniture, cooking utensils, dishes, glassware, and silverware. Linens are not supplied. For outdoor meals and campfires, a picnic table and gas grill are provided. 

Unfortunately, our cabins and full service cottage are not available on a "walk in" basis when the office is closed.  Please CALL AHEAD to confirm office hours, as well as availability of our cabins, or our full service cottage.  Oquaga Creek offers "rustic" cabins. Patrons who are interested will need to contact the park directly to make their reservations. Seasonal campsites do not include electricity, water or sewer services. Oquaga Creek State Park

Gilbert Lake State Park's lake and three ponds lie in wooded, hilly terrain in the foothills of the Catskills. In addition to cabins and campsites, the park has more than 12 miles of interconnecting trails for hikers, skiers, snowmobilers and snowshoers. Playgrounds and a disc golf course, as well as swimming, boat rentals, boating (car top/hard bottom boats) and fishing are also featured.

Gilbert Lake is also home to the New York State Civilian Conservation Corps Museum.   

New! Thanks to a grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, a Hippocampe Beach/All Terrain wheelchair is now available at Gilbert Lake State Park to access beach and trails.

Gilbert Lake State Park

A picturesque 167-foot waterfall is the main attraction of Chittenango Falls State Park! Glacial sculpting over 400 million-year-old bedrock is responsible for this scenic feature. An interesting variety of both plants and wildlife may be found along the trails. Visitors can view the falls from the top, walk the winding trail into the gorge view the falls from the footbridge and return to the top along the small trail on the opposite side of the gorge. Activities include fishing, hiking and picnicking.



Chittenango Falls State Park

Robert V. Riddell State Park offers more than 2,000 acres of fields and forested woodlands located in the Susquehanna River Valley.  The park is named for Robert V. Riddell of Coliersville who believed that we are caretakers of the land and that we should pass it on, undeveloped to future generations.

The park spans three townships and two counties and is easily accessible, straddling I-88 in Otsego County.  It is approximately 20 miles from Cooperstown, home of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The park offers a variety of family-friendly passive recreational opportunities. As part of an extensive statewide trail network, it is a preferred destination for hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts. Additional activities include bird-watching, snowshoeing and fishing.

Schenevus Creek, a Class A trout stream which leads to the Susquehanna River, crosses the north side of the park. This land was formerly cultivated for agricultural purposes. Hiking trails allow visitors to explore the wooded southern portion of the park.

Robert V. Riddell State Park

Clark Reservation State Park is a geologic wonder of the last ice age and a botanist's paradise. The park's natural features include rugged cliffs and rocky outcrops, woodland and meadow, a wetland and a glacial plunge basin lake in which the surface waters and bottom waters do not mix. Fishermen can catch pickerel, bullheads, and sunfish; while birdwatchers may observe cedar waxwings, kingfishers and woodpeckers. The Nature Center is open seasonally from mid-May through Labor Day.  Weekend guided nature walks leave from the Nature Center building, which also offers numerous exhibits. Hikers may choose from five trails, including the cliff trail, which has a ledge overlook 175 feet above the water.
