Foss State Park is located in western Oklahoma on Foss Lake. Recreational activities include hiking, biking, disc golf, horseback riding, fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking and camping. Facilities include RV campsites, 10 of which have full-hookups. All sites offer 30-amp or 50-amp service plus water. RV sites must be reserved online. Big rig sites, shaded sites and 103 tent sites are also available and all can be reserved online. In addition to the tent and RV sites, the park also offers two fully furnished cabins, one of which is ADA compliant, available for reservation online.

While Foss offers an equestrian camp featuring a multi-purpose trail for horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking, horse rental is not available. Plan your next group retreat or family reunion to Foss Lake and take advantage of the park's five palapas at Sunset Beach, air-conditioned enclosed shelter meeting space, picnic areas, group picnic shelters, grills, fire rings, comfort stations with showers, lighted boat ramps, boat storage, playgrounds, swimming beach and seasonal marina.

***NOTICE*** Winterization update. Cutberth and Sandy Beach Campgrounds will be closed from 11/1/20 - 3/1/21. Mouse Creek Campground will remain open with electric and water but the restrooms will be closed and winterized from 11/1/20 - 4/1/21. Buffalo Bend Campground will be closed and gated from 10/26/20 - 4/17/21. Cabins, Cottonwood and Cedar Point Campgrounds and bathrooms will remain open year round. Boat ramp at Cedar Point, Mouse Creek, Buffalo Bend, Cutberth and Sandy Beach will remain open. 

Foss State Park

Red Rock Canyon is a beautiful example of nature's artwork in Oklahoma. Wind, water and natural forces have shaped deposits from the Permian geological period Into the natural sculpture you see today. Before the mid-1800s, Plains Indians used the canyon as a winter camp. Game was abundant, the water was pure and clean and it was an escape from the cold prairie winds, just as it is today.

The canyon became a landmark on the California Road. During the 1849 California Gold Rush, the westward leading road was a haven for weary travelers. It provided fresh water, grazing for livestock and a place to rest and repair their wagons.

In 1956, the City of Hinton, Hinton Kiwanis Club, and one other individual donated the land, known as Kiwanis Canyon Park to the state. The park was renamed Red Rock Canyon State Park. The 310 acres of steep, rugged cliffs and canyons make the park a favorite spot for camping and hiking.

As of November 1st, 2018 the Red Rock Canyon State Park was no longer operated by the State of Oklahoma.  However, the park is now privately operated with a desire to see this beautiful park continue to thrive and reach more visitors to showcase the beauty of Red Rock Canyon.

The canyon floor is home to a rich ecosystem that includes many varieties of trees, birds and animal life. Nature puts on a spectacular fall foliage show from mid-October to mid-November but every season is special at Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park.

Red Rock Canyon State Park

This 18-hole, par 70 course offers bent grass greens, Bermuda grass tees and fairways, a wide open front nine, challenging back nine, well-placed sand bunkers and lake views. Recreation and RV camping are available at nearby Fort Cobb State Park. Senior discount is offered Monday through Thursday. Junior rates are available daily. Private or group lessons are available. Golf Digest has included Fort Cobb Golf Course in their "Places to Play in Oklahoma" list with three stars for three years in a row.

Fort Cobb State Park Golf Course

Located in southwest Oklahoma near Fort Cobb, Fort Cobb State Park offers visitors a wide variety of activities and attractions.

The park borders Fort Cobb Lake, a large lake with 4,000 surface acres for swimming, fishing, boating and water sports. Sunset Cove Marina offers boat and boating equipment rentals, boat slip rentals, a convenience store, fuel and a restaurant. Get on the water at multiple boat ramps throughout the park and be sure to load up on bait, tackle and essentials at the Fort Cobb Lake Store on the west side of the lake. The lake features a variety of fish, including crappie, catfish, walleye, saugeye, largemouth and white bass. 

The on-site Fort Cobb State Park Golf Course gives visitors a chance to play a round on a course with beautiful views of Fort Cobb Lake. This 18-hole, par 70 course offers bent grass greens, Bermuda grass tees and fairways, a wide open front nine, challenging back nine, well-placed sand bunkers and lake views. Facilities include a putting green, driving range and pro shop with club and cart rentals.

Fort Cobb State Park has 34 full-hookup RV sites and five cabins available for online reservations. Three of the cabins can sleep up to 6 people, while the two smaller cabins can sleep 4. Pets are allowed in select units for a small nightly fee. Primitive tent campsites are also available and must be reserved online. In addition to picnic pavilions, playgrounds and comfort stations, the park also features an enclosed shelter and community building, perfect for get-togethers, family reunions and intimate weddings. 

***NOTICE***  Winterization Update - Black Jack Cove and Deer Run Campgrounds will be closed and gated with winterized bathrooms from 9/28/20 - 4/1/21 (pending weather). One restroom will remain open in Whites Catfish Cove Campground. Caddo Hill and Cove Road tent camping sites will remain open, but the bathroom will be closed and winterized from when the weather turns cold until reopening 4/1/21. Eagles Nest and Sunset Cove Campgrounds and comfort stations will remain open. 

Fort Cobb State Park

The Roman Nose State Park Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 70 course that offers sloping bent grass greens, Bermuda grass tees and fairways, natural hazards, lake views, canyon walls and mesas. Completed in 1959, this course was designed by Floyd Farley and Tripp Davis with no water hazards or sand traps. Roman Nose State Park Golf Course

Roman Nose State Park, named after a Cheyenne chief, is one of the original seven Oklahoma state parks. Set amidst a beautiful canyon, gypsum rock cliffs and three natural springs, recreational activities at this state park include an 18-hole golf course, hiking trails, two lakes, trout fishing in season, canoeing, paddle boats, mountain biking, horse stables and hayrides by reservation. Rentals include canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and mountain bikes. Swimming in the lakes is not allowed, but fishing and no-wake boating are welcome.

For a truly memorable stay, book a night at the beautiful Roman Nose State Park Lodge. The 22-room lodge, originally constructed in 1956, has been completely renovated to reflect the natural landscape of the area. The reconstruction emphasizes the lodge's original mid-century design, while beautifully updating the look to today's modern standards. The newly decorated rooms feature large showers, comfy beds, contemporary furnishings and large flat-screen televisions. The lodge also features several conference rooms and a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pets are not allowed in the lodge.

Roman Nose State Park also offers 11 cabins. Amenities include queen-sized beds, a queen sleeper sofa in the living room, a full kitchen, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, linens and a fireplace. Two of the cabins are pet-friendly. Overlooking Lake Boecher, the Pioneer Cabin can sleep up to five people between a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room and a full bed and fully adjustable twin bed in the bedroom. It also comes with a fully equipped kitchen, ground-level entry shower and spacious floor plan to accommodate ADA guests.

Campground facilities at Roman Nose State Park include full hookup sites, sites with water and electric hookups, as well as tent sites. Online reservations must be made for all campsites. From April through October, book one of the park’s teepees for a unique overnight stay. These spacious structures can sleep up to four adults and include an indoor electric outlet an outdoor fire ring and grill.

For larger groups, book the Turkey Roost Group Camp. This private area offers a dining hall and A-frame bunkhouses that can accommodate up to 163 overnight guests.

Also located within the park is the Roman Nose State Park Golf Course.
